I really enjoyed doing this shoot and think the end images turned out really well, I have enjoyed learning a few things from Photoshop to help tweak and change the images. I think these images go really well with my inspirational word 'Naked' that I got given. At first I thought it was too easy of a word but when actually thinking and doing a mood board/ Story board for it I started thinking more outside the box and looking into different styles. I used a beauty box and two big reflectors either side of the model to get as much bright light as I could, to get the light reflecting off her dewy skin to give a natural looking glow. I would change a few thing like do different poses but I am still really happy with the images.

Naked and Illamasqua Face Chart

This is my final look face chart for my Illamasqua/Naked themed shoot, I am going with leaves and breaches in the hair and over the chest to give it that nature feel and tribal theme to it. I was inspired by tribal make-up as seeing the women hardly wearing any clothes and painting their bodies inspired me.As my word was Naked I thought this would fit into the theme very well.

This image is absolutely stunning and the skin looks perfect. Why I think this fit in with my brand is the prop added and the perfect looking make-up, its not a dramatic as Illamasqua's make-up but it merges also with the naked them with no clothes and natural looking make-up. It reminds me of when you get out of the show with your skin wet ans you put your towel on your head.

This is more up Illamasqua's street, with all the theatrics and colours added to the make-up, the make-up is still toned down comparing it to Illamasqua's theatrical make-up images, but I like the idea of the nature added into the hair with the theme naked added into it. such a beautiful image.

Absolutely amazing photography and make-up going on in this image, I love the nature theme again this added to the bare body, this is really inspiring and getting my brain thinking what I could do to achieve my end imagery. This is not perfect make-up it more messy which is total opposite to Illamasqua but all the theatrics of the props and avant-guard hair reminds me of Illamasqua.

Merging 'Naked' with 'Illamasqua'

So as you do when you are waiting for hours in a waiting room and ideas sometimes come to you, well I had no paper so here are my notes on the back of some leaflet I was handed.

I have been trying to think of ways of merging these to together to create ideas for my photo shoot but I think this word is really hard to put together with Illamasqua as their make-up is very theatrical and very creative, whereas the word naked reminds me of hardly any make-up.
 After researching the word naked I have took the word bare and used that to develop my ideas, I have gone with how branches become bare with out leaves and going to use the leaves and stick them to the body. I want to also go with the idea of 'Bare Essentials' for the make-up. Bare Essentials is using using one product for more than one thing one the face, for example a product you can use on the cheeks, lips and eyes, So I will be using a minimal amount of products.


This will appeal to the customer as they will learn that you don't have to buy loads of products to create an amazing make-up, which will also save them money.

What I have noticed about Illamasqua's advertisement is they are all so dramatic, the lighting looks plain and not over the top but the make-up, hair and overall image has a story. All of the images seem to have certain theme to them, they use theatrical make-up, avant-guard hair, backgrounds and props to show the theme. You can't see what product they are trying to sell this is my you could get it confused with editorial photography. The make-up stands out and you can tell the image has been overly enhanced and edited.

With my inspired word I am using that as my theme and going over the top with props, using leave and branches. I am going to keep the natural hair and use a wig but I will be making the hair big and avant-guard. Since I was doing the natural look with the word Naked I am going to change it up and go more theatrical using line work over the eyes and giving shine and dewiness to the skin, bold brows, big eyes and lips.
